Quran Memorization Competition Rules

After Duhr Prayer

Reading the Holy Quran:

  • Brings us closer to Allah (SWT).
  • Provides us with guidance.
  • Helps us develop a deeper connection with our faith.
  • Gives us a sense of purpose.

This Holy Quran Memorization Competition aims to:

  • Promote literacy in the Holy Quran.
  • Introduce and encourage our youth to recite and memorize the Holy Quran.
  • Promote leadership development and public speaking abilities.

Surahs by Age Group

  • Group 1: Ages 5-8 Surahs Al-Asr to An-Nas (103-114)
  • Group 2: Ages 9-12 Surahs Ash-Shams to At-Takathur (91-102)
  • Group 3: Ages 13-16 Surahs At-Takwir to Al-Balad (81-90)

Boys and Girls are welcome to compete.

Quranic Recitation Competition Rules

  • Each participant must complete the online registration form here by the March 16th
  • Ages 5 – 16 may register to participate in Hifth (memorization).
  • Participants may choose to compete in a group above their age, but not below their age.
  • Please arrive promptly on the day of the competition, dressed in an appropriate Islamic outfit.
  • On the day of the competition, you will be asked to recite any two of the Surahs of your group.
  • Participants must raise his /her voice and read clearly.
  • Participants are evaluated based on their memorization (recitation by heart) and pronunciation.
  • Judging will be based on clear and accurate memorization of the selections and continuous flow of recitation.
  • In case of a tie for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, judges may ask you to recite any one Surah from your group.

Final Word

    • Don’t be nervous or shy. You are doing something for the pleasure of Allah (SWT).
    • Prizes will be awarded.
