Quran Memorization Competition Rules

After Duhr Prayer
Reading the Holy Quran:
- Brings us closer to Allah (SWT).
- Provides us with guidance.
- Helps us develop a deeper connection with our faith.
- Gives us a sense of purpose.
This Holy Quran Memorization Competition aims to:
- Promote literacy in the Holy Quran.
- Introduce and encourage our youth to recite and memorize the Holy Quran.
- Promote leadership development and public speaking abilities.
Surahs by Age Group
- Group 1: Ages 5-8 Surahs Al-Asr to An-Nas (103-114)
- Group 2: Ages 9-12 Surahs Ash-Shams to At-Takathur (91-102)
- Group 3: Ages 13-16 Surahs At-Takwir to Al-Balad (81-90)
Boys and Girls are welcome to compete.
Quranic Recitation Competition Rules
- Each participant must complete the online registration form here by the March 16th
- Ages 5 – 16 may register to participate in Hifth (memorization).
- Participants may choose to compete in a group above their age, but not below their age.
- Please arrive promptly on the day of the competition, dressed in an appropriate Islamic outfit.
- On the day of the competition, you will be asked to recite any two of the Surahs of your group.
- Participants must raise his /her voice and read clearly.
- Participants are evaluated based on their memorization (recitation by heart) and pronunciation.
- Judging will be based on clear and accurate memorization of the selections and continuous flow of recitation.
- In case of a tie for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, judges may ask you to recite any one Surah from your group.
Final Word

- Don’t be nervous or shy. You are doing something for the pleasure of Allah (SWT).
- Prizes will be awarded.
