Islamic School
Communications from the Islamic School Planning Committee
October 2025
Executive Summary
The Islamic School Planning Committee (ISPC), established in May 2023, has been revitalized with additional experienced members and reconvened in May 2025 to advance the community’s goal of founding an Islamic school. The ISPC consists of professionals specializing in education, school leadership, business development, and strategic planning. Since regrouping, the team has focused on building a strong foundation for the school by developing strategies, evaluating educational models, and preparing for a sustainable institution.
The process of establishing the school is recognized as complex and multi-phase, requiring thorough planning, compliance with standards, curriculum development, community engagement, and a solid financial plan. The ISPC emphasizes the need for ongoing community support, patience, and prayers as they work toward creating a school that will nurture children, strengthen the community, and uphold Islamic values for future generations.
We will communicate updates as we reach major milestones.
Full Communication
Alhamdulillah, we are pleased to share an update on our community’s ongoing effort to establish an Islamic school.
The Islamic School Planning Committee (ISPC) was originally formed in May 2023, marking the beginning of a long-term vision to provide our children with a strong Islamic and academic education. After periods of reflection and reorganization, new community members were added to the ISPC.
Currently, the ISPC is composed of highly qualified professionals with extensive experience in education, school leadership, business development, and community service. Among us are individuals with doctoral degrees (Ph.D.), current and former school principals, and experts in strategic planning and organizational management.
The ISPC reconvened in May 2025 with renewed focus, dedication, and a clear plan of action.
Since that time, members have been working diligently to build the necessary foundation—developing strategies, exploring educational models, and preparing the groundwork for a sustainable and successful institution, Insha’Allah.
We wish to remind our community that establishing a school is a complex and multi-phase process. It involves careful planning, compliance with legal and educational standards, curriculum development, community engagement, and, most importantly, a strong financial framework to ensure long-term success.
We ask for your continued support, patience, and dua as we move forward. Together, with Allah’s help, we can establish a school that will serve our children, strengthen our community, and preserve our Islamic values for generations to come.
“And say, ‘My Lord, increase me in knowledge.’”
(Surah Taha, 20:114)
May Allah bless this effort, guide us with sincerity, and make this project a source of continuous reward for all who contribute to it.
Ameen.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- When will the school open?
We are still in the early stages of planning and do not have a date yet. We will communicate a tentative date when planning is completed.
- What grades will the school offer?
Slow and steady wins the race! We plan on starting small and expanding as we further study the needs of our community and tailor our offerings accordingly. As of now, the goal is to start with kindergarten and plan for 1st grade as we progress.
- Is the school free of charge to the community members?
Since the school needs to be sustainable and will not have any income other than fundraisers and fees, there will be a cost per student. More information to come as we conduct a financial study.
- Will the school also teach Quran to my kids?
Yes. We plan on having a full Islamic program.
- Will the school be at NHIC or a different location?
We are evaluating various options, but rest assured, if the school will be in a different location than NHIC, then we will make sure that it is as close as possible. That said, we will prioritize the needs of your children first to ensure that we provide them with the best environment.
- What time of day will school start and end?
Further information will be provided we get close to a launch date.
- How can I help or contribute?
As we progress in planning and identify areas that we need expertise in, we will post announcements. Until then, praying to Allah for the success of this project remains our strongest weapon.
- Will the school admit children outside of the NHIC community?
Yes. We are the ummah of the prophet Mohamed PBUH and just like how our Masjid is open to all, the school will be open to all Muslim children.
- Will there be employment opportunities?
We are always on the lookout for qualified staff members to strengthen our program. Opportunities assessed based on the forecasted staff needs.
